As the name implies gas lamps emit light by burning gas. Used in the XIX century in Europe and South America as public lighting. The construction of the first gas lamps consisted of a metal tube and the outlet in which the gas was burning.
City lighting made use of this approach for the first time at the beginning of XIX century in London. Gas lamps have a very specific nature due to the dimness and interesting light color. Pressure lamp was a German invention. It has a slightly stronger light.
