You light a fire after a forest walk, hang food over the fire, and the wonderful scent of delicious dishes spreads around everywhere. Sounds beautiful, doesn't it? Cooking in the forest is, in fact, a fantastic adventure. In order to prepare food in the bosom of nature, however, you need utensils such as mess tins or tourist pans. Pots with a large handle can be hung directly over the fire, and then you can conveniently mix their delicious contents. Large Hungarian cauldrons were created with the idea of making stews, but it is only up to you what you cook. Camping pots made by German and Scottish brands are made of highly resistant steel or slightly lighter aluminum. Sometimes it is anodized - manufacturers thus ensure the highest corrosion resistance. Steel enameling, i.e. the application of powdered minerals, which give the model a retro look, and its surface - resistance, play a similar role. By choosing an enameled camping cooking pot on a campfire, you get a pot with a perfect appearance and, moreover, very durable.

When looking for Hungarian cauldrons, be sure to pay attention to the capacity, which is from about 4 to as much as 22 liters. The largest dishes will be used to prepare a meal for even a few families, while the smallest ones will be useful when camping alone. Small tourist cooking pots are also available in the form of canteens with foldable handles and a polypropylene lid. The lid is useful for draining potatoes or pasta.

Iron and steel tourist frying pans

Sometimes cooking is not enough - food has to be fried in tourist pans. The models recommended for camping are made of iron, steel or enameled aluminum. Not all pans have a handle - some, slightly reminiscent of a metal plate, are hung on a chain over the fire. The handle will of course be useful if you have a gas stove instead of a live fire. When looking for a pan, pay attention to the inner surface - a non-stick coating may be applied to the steel to prevent food from burning.
